Our Culture

As a member of the North Shore Healthcare family, our center’s dedicated healthcare professionals strive to deliver quality care to those who have chosen us. Hammond Health Services’ goal is to create an environment that affords our residents the opportunity to be a partner in the care they receive, to develop trusting relationships with our caregivers, and to reach their highest level of independence. We are passionate about making our center The Right Choice for you or your loved one.

We are situated in a beautiful setting between the golf course and the Hammond Village Park and attached to an assisted living community, Heritage Court.

In a recent customer survey, we’re proud to share that 100% of our residents indicated that their overall experience was good to excellent and they would choose our facility again should the need arise. We are also proud to be on the U.S. News & World Report Best Nursing Home list for 2018.

We recently were awarded a 2019 Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). The Award Program has three levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. As a recipient of the Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award, we may now move forward in developing approaches and achieving performance levels that meet the Silver – Achievement in Quality Award criteria.

Leadership Team

Executive Director – Laurie Edelman

“I absolutely love working in long-term care! Every day brings a new challenge or experience. The staff shows such compassion for our residents and I feel privileged to work alongside them. But most of all, working with our residents and getting to know their stories, their history, and their families, is why I love this field so much.”

Director of Social Services–Nancy Rivard

“This is a challenging business and ever-changing. Each individual we care for brings new experiences and is rewarding whether it is an individual coming to the facility for a short-term/rehab recovery stay, or someone who comes for care and comfort at end of life.”

Director of Rehabilitation–Tiffany Hayes

“I enjoy working in skilled nursing mostly due to the incredible people I meet. I love helping patients meet their personal goals and overcome physical obstacles, and helping them be successful.”

Business Office Manager–Lori Anderson

“My favorite thing about this industry is that there is never a dull moment. I also am gratified when I am able to help people with their financial situations and make their stay more comfortable not having to worry about finances. I feel like I make a difference in their lives. I know they have made a difference in mine!”

Director of Nursing–Kim Anderson

“I find it very satisfying knowing we are able to take care of our residents and make our facility feel like home. I enjoy watching staff grow, from CNA to LPN to RN. It’s great to see them gain knowledge and strive to improve. Knowing we make a difference every day in someone’s life keeps me coming to work and loving what I do.”
